Hi! Thanks for visiting! Welp, let's just jump right into it: I grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts with the best parents and little sister a person could hope for. I'm the slightly awkward wallflower from high school who always felt the most comfortable in the art room (or in the woods of coastal Maine). With a love of creating things and writing, fully encouraged by my family, art school was the clear choice, and Boston was just far enough away to have my own adventure without feeling too homesick.

I graduated with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2004 with honors and distinction. While there, I majored in illustration, focusing on illustration, storytelling, animation, and scriptwriting. After college, I worked as a background artist at Soup2Nuts, an animation company in Watertown, Massachusetts, for about six years on all sorts of projects, but the big ones were WordGirl (which has received eleven Emmy nominations and four wins), SciGirls, and Astroblast. All were shows for PBS Kids.

For the SciGirls backgrounds in particular, I earned a special recognition certificate from the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Daytime Emmy Awards! SciGirls won in the category of Outstanding New Approaches in Children's Television.

After that, I married a handsome scientist, moved to California, had two amazing kids, and decided to focus on being a mom. My family and I have finally settled down in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. The babies aren't babies anymore, and I'm finding my way back into making art again. There's a little extra time these days to do a project here and there. What I'd like to do now is get back into traditional painting and illustration, with real paint and real paper and the clinking of a paintbrush against a jar full of water.
